Do some seminars leave you wishing for more? Are you hungry
for more comprehensive, in-depth information from your next seminar? Does the
presentation end just as the speaker starts getting to the practical
information? Let's fix that!
DogPact and Dogs of Course are excited to present
Bob Bailey with his 50 years' experience training over 150 species of animals
and Terry Long with her 15 years training people and their pets for a full two
days.
Treat yourself to a weekend of lecture, video, and live demonstrations at
the Think-Plan-Do Seminar, August 6-7, 2011 at the Red Lion Hotel in Anaheim,
CA. Stay at the hotel to take advantage of our special sleeping room rate so you
can focus on learning while you relax, and enjoy the weekend without commuting
hassles. Make it a family weekend -- they can explore area attractions while you
enjoy the seminar guilt free! (Disneyland, anyone?) You can even bring your dog
to relax in your room if needed.
Producing highly
reliable behaviors under challenging situations is an elusive goal for many dog
trainers. With the "Think-Plan-Do" approach presented in this two-day seminar,
you will think differently, plan more strategically, and execute your training
with new confidence. You will discover new tools to use to systematically
evaluate and fix training problems, and you will spend less time training as a
result. You will learn what "fluency" is and what it takes to get it.
Bob will
teach you the core skills that produce top-notch trainers worldwide. These core
skills and concepts will give you a reliable system you can depend on whether
you are a sports competitor, a professional trainer of people and their pets, or
want to train your own dog to be more responsive to your cues.
This system of
training starts with an understanding of Bob's "Think-Plan-Do" approach to
training. After each mini-lecture from Bob, complete with Power Point slides
and videos, Terry Long will take the stage to demonstrate how a key concept is
actually used. She will pull from her experience as a professional dog trainer
and behavior consultant, as well as her canine sports experience, to show you
how to put into effect the Think-Plan-Do system.
Terry will help you see how
classical conditioning affects learning and attitude, how to "split" behaviors
according to "plan" instead of "winging it," and why splitting is critical in
teaching precise behaviors. You will learn the pitfalls of adding a cue too
early and why "stimulus control" is essential in dog sports.
Leave brimming
with new ideas, plans, and skills you can use the next day. Don't miss the
opportunity to learn from Bob Bailey in a rare long format presentation. This
will be his only full length seminar appearance in the CA, AZ, and NM area in
2011.
