Join Positive Gun Dogs of Minnesota in hosting Jim Barry,

Clicker Training for Sporting Breeds", for a hands-on weekend of gun dog fun.
Jim Barry brings effective and efficient dog-friendly training methods to the
gun dog world. Let him show you how adding a little click can improve your
relationship with your dog AND get you a reliable, field-ready hunting companion
or family dog that loves to play field sports.
Through special arrangement
with the UK Gun Dog Club, participants can earn training awards for their dogs
(title details at http://thegundogclub.co.uk).
Day One:
- Clicker training review
- Intermediate obedience drills: off lead heel, longer stays, whistle commands, reliable recalls
- Scent tracking and quartering
- Retrieving drills: marked (visible) retrieves, memory retrieves, directional signals (junior level); introduction to blind (unseen) retrieves (intermediate level)
Day Two:
- Into the field: more distance and distractions; honoring other working dogs
- Conditioning to gunfire (intermediate level)
- Water retrieves (intermediate level, conditions permitting)
- The Junior or Intermediate Retriever, Spaniel or Versatile Gun dog Test
