  Description of Seminar/Conference

Learn about and get your dog started in the latest dog sport everyone is talking about – K9 Nose Work®! This detection-style activity is open to all breeds of dogs and is designed to develop your dog’s natural scenting abilities using their curiosity, desire to hunt, and their love of toys, food, and exercise. The art and practice of nose work has made basic detection dog skills available to companion dogs, creating a new sport arena for dog enthusiasts. It’s a great way for any dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy. Dogs with sight and hearing impairments, senior dogs, retired sport dogs, and dogs with sensitivity issues, among others, can also reap great benefits from the activity.

Instructors: Amy Herot, CPDT-KA, NACSW™ and K9 Nose Work® Co-founder and Leah Gangelhoff, NACSW™ Senior Faculty Member and Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI), share their passion and knowledge in a comprehensive introduction to the activity of K9 Nose Work®, the training philosophy as developed by the founders, and the basics of NACSW™ sanctioned K9 Nose Work® Competition Trials.
