  Description of Seminar/Conference

Similarities & Differences between Wolves & Dogs:

The evolution of canidae on our planet has been talked about in the scientific community for 100 years or more. As a trainer, I have had the privilege of working with wolves, coyotes, New Guinea Singing Dogs, dingos, and almost every breed of dog humans have produced.

This presentation will discuss the similarity and differences in the terminology and social behavior our dogs from their biological relatives the wolves. My goal is to give the attendees a better understanding of how living together with humans works from the dog's perspective.

Understanding & Training Terriers:

Terriers, from Ratters to Pit Bulls, are a unique group of dogs bred for behaviors we seldom need them to do anymore. Because of man's breeding desires over the past couple of hundred years, this group of dogs presents different challenges and benefits than other groups of dogs, like the herding or retrieving types.

When misunderstood and mishandled, terriers can be a problem. When understood and trained to cooperate with humans, they can offer a fun filled life of mutual enjoyment.

This part of the presentation is designed to help attendees to better understand the breed type and therefore better understand the cooperative living and behavior modification strategies necessary to enjoy life with a terrier.
