  Description of Seminar/Conference

Do you wonder why some dogs go “over-the-top” and act out in ways that are frustrating to guardians and/or dangerous to the dog or others? Arousal is based in the dog’s neurobiology and, once triggered, causes the dog to react reflexively.
How do you prevent arousal behaviors, or arrest them once triggered? In this seminar, Ken will cover:

  • The evolution of dogs in their working roles and how arousal was a desired trait
  • Neurobiological functions responsible for arousal
  • Sensory functions and how they trigger arousal
  • Strategies and exercises to change a dog’s response to arousal triggers
  • Why some strategies do or do not work for a dog; and how to adopt the strategy for that dog

Ken will lecture and use photos/video demonstrations throughout the seminar. This seminar is suitable for both dog guardians and trainers. There are no working spots in this seminar.
