  Description of Seminar/Conference

Day 1

TAGteach Introduction
Where it started, where it’s going and what that means to you

What is your human student is telling you when they’re not telling you
Exercises and games that show you how to stave off your students’ frustration before it happens!

The Focus Funnel – Forget frustration
We’ll look at skills you frequently teach and how using the Focus Funnel can decrease the time to acquisition and increase student success.

Leash handling skills (grip, releases to pressure, loose leash, etc.)
Clicker mechanics (still during click, treat after click, etc.)
Managing human emotions during training
The Audible Marker – The science works for us all
Long used in advanced training with animals, it turns out the audible marker improves focus and learning for humans too. We can use the marker for human physical skills that are tricky to learn.

Treat handling (where to treat, treat delivery, etc.)
Emergency skills (dog lunges, strange dog approaches, etc.)
TAGteach Triangle
Identify – Highlight – Reinforce

The methodology without the audible mark – going TAGless.
