  Description of Seminar/Conference

K9 Nosework is the exciting new detection-style sport designed to develop a dog's natural scenting abilities by using their curiosity, desire to hunt, and their love of food, toys, and exercise. It's a great way for any dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of physical and mental energy!

This introductory workshop is designed for future K9 Nosework instructors, dog sports enthusiasts, and the pet owner looking for a fun outlet for their dog. Jill will take you through the foundation process to get any dog started in the sport.

Working Participants (limited to 12 dogs per day): Any dog can do nosework! All ages and levels of training and fitness are welcome. Shy, excitable, and mildly dog-reactive dogs are welcome candidates. Dogs must be non-reactive and non-aggressive to unfamiliar people and must be able to stay quietly in a crate out of the owner's sight or in a properly equipped vehicle when not working.

Observation Spots: One of the best ways to learn about canine nosework is to watch lots and lots of dogs work. Learn the ins and outs of the sport with a variety of breeds and personality types.
