This two-day seminar focuses on dog behavior, pack dynamics, canine play, dog intros, staff training and so much more, addressing
all aspects relating to the unique environment in doggie daycare and managing groups of dogs -- plus it is packed full of extensive video footage -- well over
100 video clips of dog interactions that you won't want to miss!
You will spend each day at a dog daycare practicing the techniques presented. We will evaluate
behavior both for individual dogs and the pack as a whole. Topics include:
ethology,
dog's natural instincts,
assessing and evaluating dog behavior;
subtleties of canine body postures,
calming signals,
signs of stress,
arousal and aggression,
group dynamics,
greeting,
play,
posturing,
agonistic and breed
specific behaviors,
in addition to our influence on a dog's behavior,
how dogs learn,
the practical side to the scientific principles on the laws of learning;
operant and classical conditioning,
making the most out of your interactions,
how to train staff more efficiently,
as well as strategies for managing play,
introducing new dogs,
dealing with inappropriate behavior,
barking,
nap time,
toilet issues

Dog daycare is a tremendous responsibility. Play
experiences can be beneficial or detrimental. When at your facility the dogs' lives are in your hands -- you are shaping their future social behavior.
