Wolf Park will be holding a Behavior Intensive Seminar
February 3-5, 2012. The seminar is during breeding season, the most active time
of the year for wolves due to the combination of elevated hormone levels and
brisk weather. The pond usually freezes over, and the wolves frolic and fight
across the ice!
This seminar includes several sessions in our Observation
Building, which overlooks the main pack's seven acre enclosure. Participants sit
with Wolf Park's head wolf curator, Pat Goodmann, to observe the wolves as Pat
narrates and explains the wolves' behavior.
A combination of talks, video, and
live observation of the wolves makes this seminar perfect for anyone wanting to
learn more about wolf behavior.
This marks the first seminar that will be held
in our newest building, The Wright Center.
Access to visit the wolves in
their enclosures is restricted due to their increased activity; however there
may be an opportunity to meet one of our older wolves in person.
